Cloud Engineer (E2)

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer (E2) to join our growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys building, operating, and optimising cloud-native solutions while working closely with CloudOps, DevOps, security teams, and clients.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend cloud libraries, tools, and services based on client and platform needs

  • Own the implementation of engineering stories and advanced cloud solutions for client workloads

  • Research, document, and propose solutions for technical challenges and operational gaps

  • Design and build cloud-native architectures including serverless solutions, IoT backends, and highly automated delivery pipelines

  • Assist in solution design, estimation, planning, and implementation activities

  • Participate in cross-functional delivery teams to successfully execute client engagements

  • Collaborate with CloudOps teams to design support systems, response procedures, and operational handoffs

  • Engage in customer-facing discussions to explain, present, and justify technical decisions while educating clients

  • Share knowledge, best practices, and technical insights with internal teams and client stakeholders

  • Design and implement scalable AWS architectures with a focus on reliability, security, and cost efficiency

  • Build and maintain observability solutions using AWS-native tools (CloudWatch, X-Ray, Config) and partner platforms (Datadog, Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry)

  • Work with 24x7 response teams to define and implement effective metrics, logging, and alerting strategies

  • Develop runbooks and automation aligned with monitoring thresholds and operational triggers

  • Partner with CloudOps to reduce alert noise, perform root cause analysis, and improve system stability

  • Collaborate with DevOps and security teams to embed resilience, security, and cost-optimization into solutions

  • Continuously learn and stay current with AWS services, best practices, and emerging cloud technologies

  • Contribute to internal IP, tooling, and open-source initiatives

  • Participate in Agile-based delivery models and project execution





Requirements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 2+ years of IT experience.

  • 2+ years of strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

  • 2+ years of experience with configuration management and/or infrastructure automation

  • 2+ years of programming experience in one or more of the following: Python, Node.js, TypeScript, Go, Java, or C#

  • AWS Associate-level certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, or Developer)

  • Experience designing scalable and automated cloud infrastructure

  • Willingness to work in the graveyard shift

  • Strong knowledge in AWS Lambda and serverless architectures

  • Exposure to large-scale enterprise IT environments

  • Familiarity with Agile or other project management methodologies

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences

  • Effective time and self-management with the ability to prioritize, adapt, and meet deadlines

  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to analyze issues and deliver practical solutions

  • Collaborative team player who builds productive relationships with clients and stakeholders
